Yes, labour spent the money they inherited and from our gold they sold, didnโt they do well ๐ตโ๐ซ. Managed to leave the uk broke and broken which has led to years of misery and deaths, well done labour ๐, lovely bridge though ๐คฎ๐ค๐ฌ๐ง
Walking along the South Bank I pointed out the O2, Millennium Bridge, Tate Modern, the London Eye and the two spiky white bridges by Charing Cross were all initiated by the Labour govt in 1999. Whatโs this govt done except make everything worse as they got richer & gaslit us all?
@WintersTale7846
And now? More broke than ever, nothing to show for it except a fabulously rich Tory Cabinet who continue to get away with the most blatant corruption. And youโre still cheering. Mental
@ahshudupayaface
Oh, and few more great things Labour did, devolution, religious freedoms, mayoral powers, great things. No investment in energy independence, or new industries, just public infrastructure and wages, that really added to our wealth ๐ตโ๐ซ. Then left uk broke, then blame tories - wow
@WintersTale7846
@ahshudupayaface
And now the conservatives have increased our debt to the highest there has ever been and yet the thick Torry voters still think labour is the problem. ๐คฃ
@PETERJAYYYY
@ahshudupayaface
Labour inherited a healthy economy, unlike 2010, then added the proceeds from the sale of our gold reserves. They then spent this on public services and infrastructure instead of energy independence and wages. We really needed to invest in creating uk wealth ๐ค๐ฌ๐ง
@jennyeastop
@ahshudupayaface
Just proved my point, inherited wealth and sold gold, then invested in public infrastructure and wages which makes no wealth. Did not invest in energy independence or industry, should be an enquiry over their reckless behaviour. Also brought devolution, religious freedoms etc. ๐
@ramtops
@ahshudupayaface
Of course, Wikipedia, why didnโt I think of that, the go to when running a country and an economy, pity Blair didnโt use it when he was in power ๐ฅฑ๐ฌ๐ง
@WintersTale7846
@ahshudupayaface
Which is why Tories added 1.5 Trillion to the National debt. Labour back then and now are plastic Tories anyway. If plastic Tories spent the money it was on projects, buildings etc. Billions are lining the pockets of Tory backers their mates and idiots like Mone etc real crooks
@WintersTale7846
@ahshudupayaface
It was international, free market, casino banking, gambling investors money away that caused the 2008 financial crisis. Bandit capitalism, not Labour.
@WintersTale7846
@ahshudupayaface
Just rubbish a worldwide recession caused problems all round the world but it turned out we handled it better than everyone else , till cameron /clegg choked the recovery off with not needed austerity
@WintersTale7846
@ahshudupayaface
Gold is just a commodity. At the time of the sale, our gold was worth just ยฃ26 billion and only half was sold. Yes, it could have brought in more if sold later, but equally, could have dropped in value. But the ยฃ23 billion was used to undo much of the Tory under-investment.
@WintersTale7846
@ahshudupayaface
To continue, Far from leaving UK broke Labours Gordon Brown saved our economy which was wrecked by US Subprime Mortgage selling that affected the economies worldwide. Since then Tories trebled debt in spite of recovering the "qualitative easing" borrowing & inspire of Austerity
