I can't believe the guy who successfully prosecuted Derek Chauvin while the whole world was watching is somehow in a dead heat for the Minnesota AG race against a hedge fund lawyer whose big ideas are to reinstate unconstitutional abortion restrictions and pick on trans kids.
He just repeated this word for word after reading through the latest Minnesota Poll, referring to Schultz instead of McFadden. (McWho? hopefully that’s what we’ll say about Schultz after this year.)
@WentRogue
The Chauvin decision was embarrassing, and not something to launch a political career on. But, he saw the cameras and thought that seemed fun.

What on earth are you blathering about? You know that the AG had a long history as a political leader, winning several elections to various offices prior to the Chauvin trial, don’t you?
@Lucky_Laz
Our state constitution explicitly protects abortion access under the 1995 Doe v. Gomez decision, as a judge recently affirmed when he struck down the restrictions this summer.
@WentRogue
Ellison didn’t “successfully prosecute“ anyone.
He brought in outside counsel to backstop the very thin criminal division in his office.
You don’t even need to be a lawyer to bring in outside help.
@WentRogue
You actually believe those polls are accurate? State polls are horribly inaccurate.
Look towards data trends.
55% of all voters are in favor of codifying abortion. Those are coattails for a pro choice candidate. I'm calling it right now, Ellison 49-44.
