An update from Station Mgr Ken: "earlier today, WFMU went into 'coronavirus skeleton crew mode,' and this will last for the next two weeks and then some. What this means is that most shows will be either pre-recorded at home by the DJ or will be a re-run of an older show. (1/4)
"The skeleton crew themselves will still be doing shows live - Matt W, Olivia, Joe McGasko, Station Mgr Ken, 7 Second Delay, Michele, and Scott Williams. All other shows will be recorded, but with a live chatboard happening at as the show airs... (2/4)
"More live DJs will come back on the air starting April 6th. I'm heartbroken to take such drastic measures, but I'm doing this in order to increase the chances that WFMU will stay on the air for the longer term, as the days and weeks of the pandemic turn into months... (3/4)
Additionally, in case you haven't already heard (or surmised), the 2020 WFMU Record Fair has been canceled. The Record Fair will return to the Brooklyn Expo Center for the last weekend of April in 2021. Updates will be posted at
