danganronpa is such a strange series because almost everything about it is just “good”
it reaches some solid highs but also horrendous lows, and character and story writing is a mixed bag of solid ideas but also laughable bs
it’s the series ever

Part of me almost likes that. There is no other franchise with such an insane rollercoaster of quality when it comes to writing. It helps that nearly every other aspect is consistently solid to amazing, though. (Music, Character Design, Artstyle, Minigames, Voice Acting, Etc.)

I’m really glad I went into the series blind - I played it at my friend’s recommendation without any prior knowledge (besides like having seen a picture of Monokuma once) and pretty much every plot twist caught me off guard
@ViavaV2
You’ve got: One of my favorite games of all time, followed by a less good but still pretty solid romp whose problems worsened once I played the following entry and saw those problems worsen, then followed by a very miserable experience with a silver lining here and there
@ViavaV2
It's like, the peaks are SOOOOO good but then it feels like it needs to throw the worst bullshit you've ever seen to justify being shit in the eyes of people who didn't bother playing it.
