@Valestrider Well part of it was that at the end of this there's a fundamental misunderstanding between the factions. Horde pulls back because they're getting butchered. But from what the alliance forces see, they abandon Varian willfully. It's the driving narrative for the faction subplot.

@Valestrider I had thought Legion was leading to her being the misunderstood ruler, trying to do the right thing but things keep going wrong. Good lord they screwed that up.

@Valestrider They got overrun on the ridge, voljin the acting warcheif got stabbed and they were is seriously trouble so they had to retreat. The entire broken shore was a trap.

@Valestrider The only person who might have trusted Sylvanas died, and Greymane saw her retreat as a backstab. So whatever good faith Sylvanas had was gone. Then the events of stormheim solidified Greymanes suspicions of Sylvanas.
