Hard to beat Xi'an's street food game. There are certainly contenders but for my taste it's nigh unbeatable

Good question actually. Putting aside that there's a long Chinese BBQ and roasting tradition that goes back thousands of years, there are plenty of decent foreign run American BBQ joints in the major cities as well.
