itd be sich a better pokemon if it didnt have the drums tbh, it just feels too much like a gimmick

But Gorillas drumming is a long established theme, and this grass type has the ability to instantly grow plants, so it would make sense for a grass gorilla to grow a drum to amplify its sound based grass powers. Our definitions of gimmick may be totally different.

I really like the first two stages, I'm just not a huge fan of Rillaboom's colors. It's just not that fun to look at in my opinion, I loved Grookey and Thwackey's color schemes.
Same problem I have with Chesnaught, actually. Needs more color.

I really like this line. I'm not a fan of pokemon that have an item and evolve to have another item.
but for some reason when i saw that Rillaboom keeps the drum on it's back, i liked it more.

As much as I love Intelleon, I have a soft spot for Rillaboom because he's the only Galar starter that ended up looking exactly how I was expecting him to look. And I mean that in the best way possible lmao.

Thank Arceus that Grassy Terrain + Grassy Glide made Rillaboom more competitively viable. Coupled with his amazing G-Max form, the Grookey family was blessed by the IoA DLC. I still am a Sobble boy but I really love both starters.

I think thwacky is one of the best mid-stage starters, it knows what it wants to be and it achieves it well
