What a disturbing bill presentation today, topped off by a panel member yelling at me after suggesting that we study the disproportionate suspension of Black pre-schoolers.

Thank you for standing up. I was slapped with an improvement plan as an educator when I complained that a black male student in MS was suspended 3 days for chewing gum.

He teaches at a school for children with behavioral issues. How does he behave towards these kids when no one is around? He was hardly able to control himself in a recorded public meeting while addressing legislators.

Keep fighting the good fight, Rep Bojanowski. I was in the room where it happened. Someone’s desperate if that is the kind of person they get to testify.

There’s not enough room on Twitter to describe all the parts of these bills and the rhetoric in the testimonies I found appalling during the committee meeting. Buzz words like “Marxism” were a strong clue that several legislators are off the rails. Thank you for speaking out.
