@trinighyul So true. I remember an unhoused person being bothered by an asshat who decided they shouldn't be asking for change when they had a cell phone. Like, you don’t get to decide what they do with their money. I’d prioritize a cell for my safety too. Ridiculous

@TheJenRollins My absolute favourite is “I’ve always paid my own bills and never ask for a hand out!”…..well I’ve been paying my own bill since I was SIXTEEN!!!! Add up how much rent I have paid…….I’ve NEVER gotten ahead!

@smallbone_emma I feel that. I was on my own at 16 as well and while I did manage to get ahead a few years ago, it sure as hell wasn’t easy.
