Jalin Hyatt is going to be an interesting case study. I’m convinced he could make more money next year at Tennessee than he can in Year One as a late 1st Round pick. His decision to stay or go is an interesting one.
@TheChadWithrow
In the range Hyatt is mocked in he’s looking at 5.9-7.9 mil signing bonus. Plus a salary ranging from 3-3.7 mil. You’d have to get him 9-12 mil just to cover his salary and bonus. Add in the fact he’ll have endorsement deals in the NFL too and he’s going to need over 15 mil min
@sthorn_23
He just signed an endorsement deal with Hyatt Hotels at Tennessee. And the only thing guaranteed in the NFL is the signing bonus. Tennessee could match that bonus.
@TheChadWithrow
Would be short sighted. Nfl is multi years of guaranteed money. And would add one more year of wear and tear trying to get to the 2nd deal in the nfl where the real money is at
@TheChadWithrow
Think the QB uncertainty would make him wanna leave though ? Hooker is better than what we will have next season barring a great transfer.
@TheChadWithrow
Interesting for sure, but the money in the NFL is how fast can you get to your second deal. I don’t think delaying a year will help him get to that life altering money which is the goal for most of these guys.
@TheChadWithrow
While I agree, long term the only thing Hyatt can do in college is lose money. It would be hard for a position player to go higher than where is mocked, but a down year or an injury could definitely drop him. The other option of going pro is both safer and also has more potential
@TheChadWithrow
I'd rather him get locked in on a multi-year deal vs a 1 year Vol deal and possibly get hurt and end his chances at a NFL career... We can replace a kid, and he's been so great for UT but I want the best future possible for him... So he can convince others to come!
@TheChadWithrow
I think Hyatt should go get drafted. We get 2 receivers in the draft and show these recruits that you can get drafted high at UT. I would hate for him to come back and get targeted like Akron did to Tillman.
