I paid in SS before my 32 year Fed employment-throughout from part time jobs- after with a second non fed career. At 62 SS figured my part then cut that in half for gov offset and-at 65 took medicare cutting me to a very small amount from SS. Pure theft of property

I don't know whether his $600k number is right (I've maxed SS contributions for years; my number is lower), but even with 0% growth, it would take 11 yrs for me to recapture what my employers and I paid into the system.
They bet you will die before you can collect it all.
