I’m sorry she said “one of the reasons” which is still kind of cap. The reason why they could thrive with the anime content is because most of us fucked with anime before the videos dropped
A few things regarding this tweet
I am quite surprised people who share a different opinion than me are being so understanding, and having conversation that’s dope

@Synsei
No idea who RDC are but anime got more mainstream because big shows were actually watchable for non anime-watchers because shows like AOT didnt have the cringe inducing anime tropes in it that scared off any normal person
same with OPM, they just parodied it
@Synsei
I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that RDC has more than likely brought new viewers to anime and they’ve probably helped it be more mainstream but a main reason, probably not. I agree with you that their core audience is mostly people who already watched anime
@Synsei
Anime is cool now in the mainstream and that's dope. But people need to stop acting like it was like that for the last 20 years, cause alotta people are hard trying to change the narrative from when we were kids lol.
@Synsei
not this again.....I swear this comes up every few years lol, but anime is mainstream now for a lot of reasons
RDC is great though, no disrespect to them at all
@Synsei
I'm about to be 34, I grew up watching Toonami. Growing up I noticed black people were way tf ahead of everyone else when it came to anime in America. Followed closely by the Hispanic community. RDC didn't make anything mainstream or popular they just capitalized on it.
