A baby born of surrogacy is not allowed to be seen/touched by the woman that gestated. That baby is robbed of the skin to skin contact and bonding that happens right after birth, and after. In some cases they will never know a mother. SO MUCH of a persons personality problems 1/2

@StormCloudGloom I don’t think it’s disallowed because they don’t want the mother to go through that. I can’t see that being important. I always assume it’s because whoever bought the baby can’t bear to have it attach to its birth mother in any form, even for its own benefit.

@StormCloudGloom For the child the bond starts before birth - studies show they recognise the mother’s voice & smell immediately. It’s helps the child bond & trust immediately & in the crucial months when it’s most vulnerable. It takes months for the same level to develop with someone else
