A baby born of surrogacy is not allowed to be seen/touched by the woman that gestated. That baby is robbed of the skin to skin contact and bonding that happens right after birth, and after. In some cases they will never know a mother. SO MUCH of a persons personality problems 1/2

Are developed in the first two years of life, especially vulnerable is attachment bonding. These children are denied the most fundamental human connection from day one. What kind of problems are we setting them up for in their lives? And for what: selfishness. 2/2

Do you know why they don’t allow the touch? Because its so incredibly powerful that even one moment together forms a bond, and they dont want the mother to have to go thru that. They know how important that moment is. Why are we denying this to the most vulnerable, babies!?

Just because your surrogacy, as a person in a developed country went well, does not make it ok to exploit the thousands of women in not as developed and lawful countries, which is happening. They are being lied to and exploited. But keep making excuses.

@StormCloudGloom @BlakeBlakebabee One of the things that opened my eyes, and they are interrelated, was a friend's niece who transitioned. Surrogate born, raised by two men and had no women in her life until she was 16 and my friend married one of her uncles. Also, wait for it, on the spectrum. Poor kid.

@Honeybeeontime @BlakeBlakebabee I, too, believe these things are related! Everything is ultimately, but this specifically.

@StormCloudGloom Kids in care have a greater chance of being trans identified. Due to their family circumstances they are also more likely to have attachment difficulty

@StormCloudGloom @lizzbag Our sense of self/safety /security is deeply rooted in our parents..initially our mother..we have done so much damage to our children pretending that’s a loving attentive mothers are not an anchor for their babies/young children.. children with a broken bond/attachment do suffer

@StormCloudGloom We are going to have situations where babies & mums miss those precious & important bonding moments for reasons that are out of anyone’s control, but normalising separation of mother & baby is criminal. Women are not baby making machines & baby’s are not a product of entitlement.

@StormCloudGloom Not true I’m all cases. When my grandchild was born via surrogacy, the amazing woman that carried our grandchild is still in touch with the child she carried. She is an important member of our family & she is celebrated each year for her selfless act of love. And she’s happy.

@JCbeem7 If we are to keep doing surrogacy a situation like this would be more ideal, but thats sinply not whats happening in a lot of cases.

@StormCloudGloom I’m not sure of every surrogate situation. I understand people that are unable to conceive, this is truly a gift. That child can be loved, bond with parents. I don’t get surrogate, for entitled, that can’t be bothered carrying that child? Don’t have children?

@4Sunsluckyme I’m sure this isn’t true of *every* situation. But its certainly true for a lot of them. Its something we need to discuss and address for sure.

@StormCloudGloom This is lies, I’ve attended surrogate births and the surrogate is a part of the team that wants baby to be with it’s intended parents. Some surrogates even pump for their surro babies.

@inallcreashun Its not true for all surrogates. didnt say that. But it is true for a lot of them. regardless. Read your own post with a heart for the child, not the parents and realize that we beed to consider the child, not just parents. The reason I wrote this post is because i saw it happen.

@StormCloudGloom @TerfyMcTerfy It's heartbreaking. I hadn't realised this. Another thing is we can't escape our biological DNA and there will come a time when these kids want to find their mums. This is happening now with sperm donor babies looking for their DNA dads.

@Craftycatxx @TerfyMcTerfy Yes i remember listening to a podcast about super sperm donors and how their kids form support groups on facebook, for actual support but also so they dont date each other!

@StormCloudGloom That's not always true. It's usually up to the bio parents choice. I know a woman who chose to be a surrogate & not only held the baby after delivery but was invited to her Christening. Some that have delivered in the hospital where I work even breastfed the baby for the 1st day.
