I apologize to all Iowans who, like me, remember when we elected Tom Vilsack Governor, third state to legalize same-sex marriage, voted for Obama TWICE and lead the nation in public education. This is not the Iowa we live in today and it saddens me beyond words.

Prediction: now that she's consolidated so much power in the Governor's office, Reynolds will use it to viciously and ruthlessly punish perceived culture-war enemies. The cruelty is the point, and her base will revel in it.
