It's not just lateness. It's the attitude some creators have when they are late. Punching down on backers, calling them doubters, naysayers, trolls, and taking no responsibility for their lateness. Those who are respectful and transparent with the backers get a lot more leeway

Creators in CG don’t want to admit this, or they genuinely don’t think it matters, but lateness HURTS other crowdfunders.
I see more & more people like Eric becoming jaded to backing crowdfunded books because of lateness.
And yes, I take blame myself because of Brutas’ lateness
I think I might be giving up on crowdfunding comic books.
I’m entirely disenchanted by the experience. From lateness to reaching out to creators with questions about my legit purchase and ignored. This seems to be a common story for customers. I will continue to back

I gave up on buying any crowdfunding books. Super late, annoys me that i have to wait a year or MORE for a “OK” book. Just not worth it. And then the creator boasts on live streams how good life is rather then finish the project.
So yeah, no thanks.

I hear you! But, there are some great books coming out by creators who are doin' the grind to get their stuff done. You just have to look past the antics of that guy to see them

The backers are solid gold and off limits.
But like a restaurant, you’ll get the random “I won’t pay for my meal”types that are just there to be shitty.
Or you’ll get a homeless guy yelling at people from the street. Those are pretty rare though, and you just have to mute em and…

I understand the annoyance with late books. However, some backers repeatedly harass the creator even after they apologize, explain the situation & ask for patience.
My concern, though, is with late creators who don't regularly update their backers. Did I lose my $?
