I’m pretty sure that if you’re character is facing towards the blast zone then air dodging makes you live longer, but if you’re facing towards stage then it kills you earlier.

Airdodge is great for when you're SURE a move won't kill you. It lets you save your double jump which is super valuable, yes!
However, I still see way too many people airdodging when it WON'T save them, thinking it applies all the time. That AD gamble ain't always worth it. Jump

Yeah but this is exactly why you airdodge up? You need to stop the momentum in most cases, and using your jump every time can get you hard punished.

There are cases where air dodge is the only way to save yourself from hitting the blast zone. For example, getting knocked from the left side of the stage to the right blast zone. These long distance hits that would normally kill can be saved with an airdodge in.
