Is this the helicopter pilot who died slowly of blood cancer as after effects of radiation injury? I read about one in the past, not sure if he had crashed though.

However the pilot had mitigated the risk by smothering himself with SPF factor 50 "total block" sunscreen and was thus able to clamber out of the core unscathed.
