Totally agree it’s ludicrous to punish someone for a comment when they were 14 and it’s sad how cancel culture is evolving this way.
HOWEVER. If your kid is trying to be a footballer parents ought to remove socials, or at least review and delete potential contentious posts.

Every single bloke I went to school with was guilty of saying something homophobic. That includes a good friend who came out as gay later in life. Kids are kids. They learn from their mistakes as they go along. Ridiculous to judge an adult on their prior childish utterings
