They can piss £12 billion on trace & trace that couldn't find a turd in a toilet bowl, £106 billion on HS2, £110 million on contracts to their friends for PPE that doesn't work, but can't do the right thing when it comes to feeding some of the poorest children in society?

Absolutely. Marcus Rashford and many others are doing exactly the right thing, but we must at the same time not allow the Govt to take us back to their 19th Century fantasy, where the State left it largely to others.
