No mere past tense to Sega being a great game company, but it is no doubt like being exposed to a broader universe in what is possible in the medium.

I use past tense as in how great they were, but 100% agree they will always be great.
Rather, they were a powerhouse previously and while they are showing great signs now, don't in the main, have the ambition or influence of before.

Now, SEGA just rushes development of their games. Sonic Colors Ultimate is a good example of this problem.

When they were apart of something bigger i.e making the games for the consoles they made, it's arguable quality control was higher across the board.
However, in recent years there is a welcome resurgence.

Yes! People give Nintendo a lot of credit, and rightfully so, but a lot of innovations and ground breaking ideas came from Sega! Like Sega Channel = Gamepass. Cell shaded graphics started with JSR. 3D fighters thanks to Virtua Fighter! Tekken wouldn't exist without VF!
