Why are sarees and cheongsam considered inappropriate? It's a traditional dress just like a kurung or kebaya. Are you saying your non-Malay graduates and their family are lesser than their Malay cohorts?

Hi. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Demokrat UKM has always champion for better inclusivity within our university. We are also questioning why
@ukm_my
decided to impose such dress code. We will try to bring this issues to light through our organisation.

Its becuz unlike baju kurung those clothes they display are very revealing nad its very inappropiate to wear anything that may show your body parts hence for other race its better to wear button t and black jeans instead

Other races are also celebrating their loved ones successes. They have every right to wear their national clothes which are as much a source of pride and joy to them as kurung are to the Malays. Who are you to dictate to them to 'better wear button t & black jeans'?
