The most "transphobic" thing Ana Kasparian has said is that puberty blockers aren't fully reversible, which is true. The most "anti-black" thing she's said is that the civil rights movement was effective because it was mostly non-violent. The people attacking her are insane.
A doctor said this. A Harvard doctor. 67k followers.
At times like this I really don't understand how people are not worried about woke institutional capture.
This is why I despise leftists. They actively want to destroy the things that make life worth living.
How can they not see the beauty in being able to laugh at ourselves? How can they not see humanity in finding laughter among the darkest subjects?
This is the most racist depiction of Arabs I've seen on modern television.
A group of Arabs "is planning the next intifada", but that doesn't stop Larry David from sexualizing the woman. Then he calls her an antisemite.
Absolutely unhinged.
Marc Lamont Hill implied in his conversation with Chris Rufo that he has trouble getting a cab.
John McWhorter has said that he hasn't had trouble getting a cab since he was a much younger man.
What's the difference between Hill and McWhorter?
@Soapscum628
@terrycrews
That was the stupid accusation, yes. Less than 10 unarmed black people died last year at the hands of police. If that's an epidemic, you've got first-world problems. Now, if you're interested in solving systemic poverty and injustice, I'm all ears.
@clairlemon
"For God’s sake, let go of the pretense... Social justice politics are plainly opposed to free speech. That is the most obvious political fact imaginable." - Freddie DeBoer
@BeatsSurrender
@thekafkadude
It's also staggering that a 3-year-old can identify as trans and people won't see that as anything to do with ideology.
And that the number of detransitioners is being ignored by everyone. Tell me, did homosexuals desist in the same numbers?
Cold take: Progressive anti-racists endlessly denigrating "whiteness" as dangerous and problematic paved the way for the recent return of virulent racism against minority groups.
Hate to say this because I'm still very anti-woke, but some conservatives seem confused whether they hate gay people or hate wokeness.
If there is anything wrong with Cracker Barrel publicly supporting gay people, I don't see it.
The left shows more care and concern for black criminals than the black victims of black criminals. There's a sick moral inversion and deconstruction happening here.

They're not doubting the capability of Africans. It's that the pyramids appear to be beyond our ability even today (according to some people).

"Why do some social problems seem so intractable? In a series of experiments, we show that people often respond to decreases in the prevalence of a stimulus by expanding their concept of it."
@RtrnSanity
The main reason I hate this quote is that it implies there is no other consideration in a human life which would outrank merely knowing the history of racial inequity. It's such an insult to the human spirit, our boundless potential, to reduce everything to a single variable.
A bunch of people are dunking on atheists, but it's pretty obvious what's happening here. Leftists and progressives are very likely to be atheists, and the further left they go the more they favor censorship.
I thought the point of Atheism was to escape the alleged intolerant nature of religion.
Yet it seems that Atheists are the most censorious demographic when compared to their religious counterparts.
How did Atheists get to this point?

Actually there's data suggesting that trigger warnings cause people to react worse to the triggering material, priming them to be, well, triggered.
We should not baby adults. We should generally encourage people to be resilient and confront things they find uncomfortable.
@GoonerNail
@sullydish
That does exactly what he said it does. You can describe it in a positive or negative way, but it effectively means the words he mentioned won't be used.
Day 1798 of asking why we should not focus more on helping the poor and less on racial equity in specific industries. Has anyone seen an answer to this question that makes a lick of sense?
@lastpositivist
Conan is such a good straight man. He's always so indignant, but he also kinda laughs along with the joke while maintaining his role. Works realy well.
Sad thread. Apparently, anti-woke people just want to say the n-word. How can anyone live through the last 4 years and have no clue that people have been unfairly cancelled?
I used to be a far-left progressive and now I'm a centrist. As my politics changed drastically, my feelings about MLK never did. He was a flawed individual to say the least, but he was also a man who articulated an immaculate, aspirational vision of what America could be.
@YesThatAnna
IMO the creepiness comes from their ready willingness to engage in cruelty/bullying, yet they all think they are the empathetic protectors of the weak and oppressed.
@HistoryBoomer
How do people not get that articles like these radicalize the other side? If I'm a normal r-winger and I'm constantly being called a Nazi, I won't become a Nazi, but what I will do is entirely dismiss l-wingers as bad faith and crazy. It's a cyclical process of radicalization.
I know this is really boring, but the problem is social media. That is what allows bad ideas and misinformation to spread so quickly.
As a free speech advocate, I have no idea what to do. Educating people how to responsibly use social media isn't going to work.
Is there an actual case for believing that the bombing in Gaza is indiscriminate? I saw a distinguished professor from Columbia say this yesterday. I don't get it.
Israel has killed less than one person per bomb. How in the world can this be considered indiscriminate?
I have serious issues with
@ConceptualJames
, chief among them his juvenile, extremely combative online persona. But in this conversation with

, you must admit, he proves himself to be an excellent listener. He attentively sits in silence for 30 minutes at a time. 1

This thread is amazing. If anyone can read all this and not come to the conclusion that this new anti-racism is incoherent, they must be smoking white supremacy.
@HumanistReport
I'm sick of everything that question even one aspect of trans ideology being labeled as anti-trans. Sometimes reasonable people just disagree and they aren't bigots.
No one wants to talk about how wokeness unleashed Bret Weinstein on the world.
If the mess at Evergreen had never happened, none of you would know his name.

This kind of response is so illustrative of the issues with the pro-Palestinian side. You're more concerned with Brianna Wu's moral purity than with solving the problem.
@HistoryBoomer
Exploration, curiosity and creativity are at odds with the elevated moral value of harm-prevention.
You can have a balance, but it's necessarily going to come at the cost free expression.
@MonicaBaumann
I mean, if you're arguing that we're all human, you'd be correct.
I've said before that the woke of today somewhat resemble Christian moral scolds of the recent past. If you're admitting this similarity that's fine with me.
@SwipeWright
The new social justice-obsessed left often holds contradictory viewpoints in tandem.
Case in point: Culture is simultaneously hugely important when it comes to helping and respecting minorities, but also group differences in outcomes have nothing to do with culture. 🤷♂️
I see a lot of anti-wokes behaving badly and matching the insanity of the far left, but that doesn't make wokeness any less cancerous. This is about bad ideology, not the behavior of the too-online. It's not team sports.
In a related question, how is it that opposition to mask and vaccine mandates became a cause of the antiwoke movement? It's hard for me to imagine an issue more orthogonal to questions of social justice.
@FreeBlckThought
@DanielDiMartino
It's so powerful because it's scratching at something wild and free - our desire to be judged fairly on our own individual merits so that we may test the mettle of our souls. I really feel like modern social justice corrupts what is noble and beautiful in human nature.
@wil_da_beast630
I'd just be careful with your phrasing here. American political left would include older normie Democrats, who as far as I know still do not support these ideologies.
@deonteleologist
Sam, why do you have to be like this? Fighting hyperbole with hyperbole isn't helping anyone.
Aren't you kind of adopting Rufo's tactics? Just destroy the opposition by any means necessary?
@lastpositivist
I don't think you'd be arguing against this if not for your political leanings. Sex is a binary and intersex people aren't even exceptions to the rule.
@ScottAdamsSays
But if the fraud is so widespread, shouldn't there be more proof? (not just claims, but proof). I'm not trolling you - willing to be convinced by proof if I see it.

Yeah, a big part of the reason woke stuff is so pervasive is because it presents simplistic explanations for complex phenomena. People eat that shit up.

Agree there. It's been wild to watch the older generations in my family being cowed/bullied into capitulation.
Rarely is there an actual verbal confrontation. They're just too polite to actually stand up for what they believe in...
@monitoringbias
I'm sure some of them are trolling, but I think this is a real problem. I think it's a backlash to the embrace of illiberal politics on the left. There was always going to be blowback, and this is one of the forms it's taking.
