Definitely time for every major tournament to incorporate crowd funding. Definitely a slap in the face seeing EVO champs make scraps when every game had 60k+ viewers. I got 2nd for main stage game and made less than TOs (I love TOs btw). Why is crowdfunding not promoted?
If every viewer that watched MK11 had the opportunity to put $1 in, the pot would’ve been 60k. I love these events but it truly blows me that tourneys are gatekeeping up players from the bags.
Like how tf did Perfect Legend make 12k winning EVO in 2012 for MK9 in poverty times but Scorpionprocs made 2k in 2022 with the amount of resources we have today ?
Sony partners up with EVO for what? 💀 I wish some heads of these big events would straight be transparent as to why players are paid like shit but we are sheep that’ll just keep registering.
@RewindNV
Yeah, for the biggest fgc event to give scraps makes no sense. I watched other TOs get $10k+ pots for their offline events. Evo has no excuse to have a small pot with the kind of viewership and community support we see for other events.

When I spoke about it in past I got a lot of "if you don't like it gtfo of this scene" kind of tweets by people who believed players sweating for pennies should remain the same way cuz it's all for fun😅Let's hope they at least open Matcherino next time.Great job at EVO btw fam💪
@RewindNV
shouldn't players unite and refuse to play then? imagine a top8 full of randoms no1 knows, that would suck for EVO and make them think next time, no?
While your solution is ofc better, it needs EVO to take action and they just won't unless they NEED to imo
sry if i'm being stupid
@RewindNV
It could all be so simple bro fr. They just need to matcherino up and easy as that ! They just refuse to do that but instead run ads 30 times before a set
@RewindNV
The Kolosseum shouldn't have equal and bigger prize pools than majors this year with 0 promotion and run from my apartment. That is simply sad no matter how you slice it, and I loved the events I attended this year. But damn
@RewindNV
What breaks my heart is the overall payout at my first evo (2006) is more than the payout for 2022.
Every game had top 8 payout with 1st getting 5k to 7th getting 250.
And that was from the Toyota Yaris sponsorship.
