Why though? You can just mod the game and stay online if the visuals are an issue. It doesn't bring anything to the table other than the "authenticity", no?

Speedruns of Prepare to Die Edition are completely different from the Remaster and far better in my opinion. Yet anyone that wants to speedrun that version of the game cannot buy it. Taking PTDE off steam has been a massive blow to this community.

my biggest pain is really cool mods coming out... for PTDE only. I didn't have a PC capable of running these games before Remastered came out, and pirating scares me too much to try.
