Benji & I always shared a car together driving up to the studios in Brooklyn. Our pickup spot was on Broadway. So many mornings in that car & Benji barely said a word. Sometimes I'd hear him singing a song in his deep low voice. I can still hear it now.
16 years ago today, word spread through Oakdale that Hal had died. This episode aired almost four months after Benjamin Hendrickson’s real life, tragic passing. Hendrickson played the role in 2 separate stints, beginning in 1985. He would go onto win a Daytime Emmy Award in 2003.

Not a week goes by that I don't think about Benji in some way, shape or form. This world is sorely lacking from his talent and wry humor. I hope wherever he is, he knows how missed he still is.
