@RWWFilm I have my own eight sequences that are pretty similar. I find it by far the simplest and most freeing approach. It makes dramatic momentum much easier and allows you to really focus on the story. I use it, and I teach it.

@storyandplot Makes a lot of sense, Tom! I'm thinking of giving it a try on my new WIP. Btw, really enjoyed WINCHESTER!

@BspectacledMofo I know it's a thing that's out there, but I haven't done it that way (at least not from an organizational standpoint).

@RWWFilm I've found the story circle to be a great help in organizing my thoughts. Helps me visualize where the holes are. The problem is I have sloppy handwriting so the more I fill in the harder it becomes to read...

@RWWFilm I write my scripts based on the 8 sequence method. Love it. Use it to analyze movies as well. It makes it more approachable to write a story to me.

@RWWFilm Not really Aside from initial framing my writing tends to be more discovery. like Aha this is actually a series of moments that are a sequence

@RWWFilm Doing it for the first time on the new script, an IP adaptation that just lended itself to that structure inherently. Interesting, so far!

@RWWFilm I wrote a couple features with Eric Edson’s 23 hero sequences and it got me in more trouble than it helped. Sounds great in theory though. I’m sure it’s great for others!

@RWWFilm I do! I figure out the character's want/need (the arc) before so it's their journey and the theme is a part of the sequence/beat process.
