The CDC no longer recommends checking blood glucose since it takes up too much time, just use your best guess when administering insulin.

@RNSuperHero Being retired I miss the wonderfully twisted humor we nurses can have!! What non medical people don't know is that humor is what gives a nurse/doctor etc the relief/ability to then enter the room of a dying patient and be the "angels" you need. 💓 🙏

@RNSuperHero @trophysophie89 NPR News report: According to an ID specialist from the UChicago, the CDC’s data showed that 20-40% of the infected people still could transmit the covid virus after five days.

@RNSuperHero Go ahead and titrate that continuous insulin drip with a roller clamp. It’s fine to just eyeball it, the #cdcsays so.

@RNSuperHero If your pt is a&o you can just ask them how much insulin they do or don’t need.

@RNSuperHero Couldn’t you just do a rapid test? Lick them or smell their breath? Medicine is Art, too.

@RNSuperHero We know what they run. If they're sweaty or shaky just give 'em 10 sugar packets in some OJ...yep, that'll boost 'em!!

@RNSuperHero I mean, I once had a patient who said he only took his Xarelto when he felt “clotty.” If he didn’t “feel clotty” on any given day, he just skipped it. I’ll give you three guesses why he was in the hospital, and the first two don’t count.
