I honestly have no sympathy at all for people who lost their healthcare jobs because they refused to get vaccinated. Required vaccines in healthcare are not at all a new concept. You made a choice you knew had consequences. Bye ππ»

No one seems to be addressing the issue of staffing shortages when all the unvaccinated staff are out sick with acute or long Covid.
The antivaxx HCW are the exception. But like cranky toddlers in the Target at 9 pm, everyone knows they are there.

My hospital was very fair. They had info sessions every week where people could get questions answered, gave a few months notice, and then when the date came, anyone not vaccinated was put on administrative leave and they are welcome back once they are vaccinated. Fewer than 1%
@RNSuperHero
Exactly. And many in healthcare get vaccines such as hep series prior to working, annual flu vaccines, Tb testsβ¦..protecting yourself and your patients is nothing newβ¦..

My mother needed a smallpox booster in the 1970s to apply for a UK nursing licence (which she never used).
And if there was ever a mass deployed vaccine with significant AE rates it was that one.

Agree π― %. Depending where you are and are receiving care you can ask if the person providing the care is vaccinated too. People tend to forget that.
