We are hemorrhaging staff and management is so pissed at people for resigning they won’t respond to resignation letters and refuse to let people who offer to stay contingent or part time do so. So when I say it’s bad, it’s really really bad.

I don’t get the attitude of letting people leave all together rather than let people stay. I wanted to do seasonal at my home hospital. They said no and that people say they’ll come back, but they don’t 🙄 but they posted a travel contract the day after I resigned.

This thread is the pulse of the nursing community! I loved being a nurse. But the conditions have changed and it’s only getting worse 😔 I’m glad to be retired but my heart breaks for the ones left behind.

I recently put in my notice and asked to stay on as casual (as others have recently) and we all have been told no. Manager says that they have eliminated that position🤷🏼♀️ Makes no sense to let go of trained staff who want to stay contingent.

It is bad. I feel for the entire healthcare profession. Every department is hemorrhaging staff. I’m exhausted by doing what I can with extremely limited resources to try to get people not to leave. At this point I can’t blame them. The c-suite won’t listen to the middle mgmt

Was lamenting that my favorite travel RN (who literally helped me get through last year) is not renewing with us. My manager is like - I’ve done everything I can to get her to stay. And I told her point blank she makes $20 an hour more than the rest of your staff, why would she?
