I'm told that The N&O/H-S is planning to run a story on UNC's NCAA champion field hockey team later this week.

@NccuHop There are, thankfully, exceptions. The News & Record gives A&T good coverage and the Winston-Salem Journal does the same for Winston-Salem State. The N&O covers NCCU some but not nearly as much as the Herald-Sun used to do. Shaw and St. Aug's are, unfortunatly a different story.

@RL_Bynum It's due to the N&O being a Wolf pack biased paper. So not surprising.

@chapelthrill919 I think that's a case of the beat writer taking the initiative to write the story. I'm quite sure that the editors didn't see a national championship being won and say, "Oh, that's UNC, we wont' cover it." In general, the paper doesn't cover non-revenue sports much.
