Just to clarify: you can have free account for as long as you wish to -- you need to log in only once per year, otherwise we assume that the account is not used anymore. I guess you're referring to re-enabling your web app once per 3 months on a free account.
We're pushing ahead with the system update. However, because some of the preparatory steps were not done, it will take some time. We'll update with an ETA as soon as we have one.
It’s been a year since PythonAnywhere went all-remote, but it has not slowed us down, and today was the time to deploy an exciting set of changes to our system.
The attack appears to be specifically targeting rather than customers' sites, so we've put in place mitigations that should mean that our customers' sites are back up -- please let us know if you have a site hosted with us that is still affected.
All seems well; we believe that the attack is over, but we have (a) various automated mitigations in place and (b) some tools we've written to allow even faster response if it ramps up again. On-call team members will be automatically paged if that happens.

New version of pythonanywhere package published to PyPI. It includes some tweaks to Django autoconfiguration script. Our package is a very useful collection of code bits that you may use to programmatically automate interaction with our services.
