I saw my grandfather walk calmly up to one in the summer. A can of hornet spray in one hand and a large fishing bobber(the size of the entrance) in the other.
As he walked up he sprayed the entrance with spray and stuck the bobber in the whole.
None attacked him.
I was amazed.

Reminds of an old story I heard about some guys putting a cold moccasin in a tool box to scare people. It was working great until they took it to a bar to keep the joke going.

Last year I stepped down off a log tracking a herd and went knee deep into a ground hornets nest... hunting hoodie with gator saved my life.
Indeed women don't do shit like that.
