There is a phrase "Sikha Shahi" (سکھا شاہی) in Urdu language. It is used in the meaning of injustice, violence, anarchy, mismanagement, cruelty and oppression.....
It was the Ranjit Singh's rule which as known as Sikha Shahi.
Salman Rashid Lahori is saying that Ranjit Singh is hero of Pakistan and Punjabis because he pulled the Pathans by their noses (نتھ ڈال دی تھی پٹھانوں کو), and that there was no religious divide in his kingdom.

They were also using the phrase " Ahmad Shahi " in like manner.
کھادا پیتا لاہے دا
باقی احمد شاہے دا ۔
This stanza was probably written by Bhullay Shah.

Punjabis used to praise Ahmed shah and ghori and ghaznavi in the initial years on the basis of Muslmani and Islam. But the racism they have faced by other ethnicities have made them find some Punjabi figures to look up to. Every nation need such figures. Either same race/religion

Until very recently, majority of people from this part of the land used to be descendants of Arabs and what not. All of a sudden there is the new found love for Punjabi roots and Pathan hate.

no, it was his predecessor sikh chiefs whose rule was called sikha shahi, else he wouldn't have been able to rule that long on a vast territory, law of nature.
