The major change to my mindset? Math > emotions 🤓☝️ I stopped relying on my sports knowledge and instead relied upon market data, math and a proven strategy to actually make money betting on sports.

1️⃣ Profitable This new way of thinking obviously makes me more profitable. If I wasn’t making money, I wouldn’t be doing this. But the real question is: Why is this profitable? For PrizePicks & Underdog it’s really quite simple. These Pick ‘em or “DFS” platforms have FIXED…

Why does that matter? Well, since they don’t act like a regular sportsbook it gives us the opportunity to find spots where they are paying us WAY MORE than they should be. Basically they have a different structure for people to bet on sports, and that structure is often times…

Here’s an example: Fanduel and Draftkings have same-game parlays (SGP) that parlay together player props, just like PrizePicks. However, these books understand that players in the same game can often times be positively correlated together. Meaning, if Wheeler were to go over…

Here’s the thing though… Fanduel adjusts the payouts to give you LESS if a bet like this were to win. They know it’s not a regular parlay and there’s a higher chance for it to hit. Prizepicks DOES NOT. Well, at least they used to not AT ALL. Nowadays they are trying to crack…

So bottom line. Rely on math and positive correlation when building slips and bets on PrizePicks or Underdog. You will make money over the long term. Here’s a good video that explain it even more 👇

2️⃣ Sustainable You can take profitable bets all day long, but it doesn’t mean you’ll make money long term. You need a proper bankroll management strategy to make sure you’re able to weather the storm when things don’t go your way and to still take advantage of winning slips and…

I use a unit system. 1 unit = 1% of my total bankroll. So if I had $500 in PrizePicks and $500 in Underdog, my bankroll would be $1000 and my unit size would be $10. I decide how many units to bet on a game with math (what a shocker)… None of this bs: HUGE LOCK 🐳 10 unit…

I use the Kelly Criterion to decide how much to wager based on the odds of the bet (how favoured it is) and the expected value we’re getting (how much “extra” are we being paid out if this hits) It’s a complicated formula but @oddsjam has a nice Kelly calculator that you can use…

3️⃣ Enjoyable A side hustle has gotta be quick and stress free. That’s the only way you can do it for a long period of time. The best way to ensure betting on sports is enjoyable is to rely on the math. You’re no longer making a wager based on what YOU think and therefore you’re…

Also, stop sweating your bets. If you find yourself stressed, anxious, pissed off, etc. It’s not worth the energy. Place your bets and move on to the next day.
