For context, the school fees of a premier University in Nigeria's largest city is less than £100. I can bet ₦10K the phone being used to make the post (in jest) costs more. Nigerians have to decide if they want to pay for good University education or not.

As an addendum. - We need to increase the size of the economy badly. Minimum wage cannot be £1 a day. It's madness. - We need many paths to economic prosperity outside the University system.

I have seen a lot of valid rejoinders pointing to "free" schools. Those "free" schools are funded with 40% tax rates. I rather all money the FG spends on producing low quality graduates to be spent on free, compulsory and high quality Kidergarton - Secondary school education.

A great foundation only is better than low quality foundation plus lower quality 1st floor. The additional cost beyond tuition (books, housing etc) only to graduate with a degree that is frankly useless for 60% is not sustainable. Techical colleges are much mure useful for most

JAMB results should last for 2-3 years. Govt using unemployed youth to generate revenue no normal. Allow people to apply to multiple schools. Admissions complexity makes no sense. No first degree should be more than 3 years. If you want to practice, study for a Masters Degree.

@OoTheNigerian Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden all offer opportunities to study free or at low cost: In Norway, university study is available free of charge to all students, *regardless of study level or nationality* You see?

@vugapella Better to have a great secondary school foundation and learn a trade and be great at it. The amount of unemployed graduates is too much. People calculate only school fees not factoring the cost to attend school is at least 500k/ year for each person. Not including commute risk.

@OoTheNigerian I don’t think Nigerians would complain about the cost of fees if they could AFFORD them.

@OoTheNigerian Yeah! Pay high fees for every single thing in the country, while legislators get “Hardship Allowance”. Many of you will never be free of your shackles.

@OoTheNigerian With all due respect, this is a typical example of "a problem being easier solved on paper". First of all, why point out the cost of his phone? Is that supposed to drive your point home? Why are you using the financial capacity of one to make a case for 250 million+? Does it....

@OoTheNigerian Haba. Haba. What then is Nigeria as a country responsible for? You are pricing in pounds? Haba. What is this country responsible for to Nigerians. One thing. I would like to know.

@OoTheNigerian There is not a thing that the state of Nigeria does for Nigerians besides cheap education. And again. The reason this is being discussed is because < 10,000 people stole so much money that 198 plus million people begin to flounder. And then conversations like these come up.
