My social anxiety demands I make a polite greeting and wait for the other person to respond so know if the reason they ignore me is because they don't want to talk and not because I asked something and it upset them. Or that they think I only talk to them when I want something.

PM: Hello.
Me: What do you need?
PM: I hope you are having a good day.
Me: <no response>
<10 minutes later>
PM: <question>
Drives me crazy.

Please. I just ignore any DMs that are only 'hi' or 'hi can I ask you a question'. Just be upfront, especially if you're not a gfx bot.

I always feel bad when I send a whole paragraph to someone without asking first but I know it just makes the whole process more annoying so I just ask away 🥲👌

Also, a lot of us seeing the word "hello" is an instant DO NOT INTERACT for us. I get so many messages that start this way from bot accounts, from scammers, or people who have inappropriate things to ask of me. Putting it all in the first message is SO HELPFUL.

If it says "Hi" I simply don't answer. That person clearly doesn't mind wasting other peoples' time.

Yeah. I try to skip right to the question. Even after I had multiple people block me after reading the question from me without even telling me if they're uncomfortable answering it. It wasn't even any weird question. Just a question for some basic knowledge for the noob me.
