They took on a really complex problem - putting together their inherently centralized user base with an inherently decentralized product - NFTs - and failed at solving it at all.
It’s a shame because there is something useful there to be had. Kraken maybe?
@OGDfarmer
COIN going public topped out crypto markets to the day. Coinbase NFT, hyped for months as the next big catalyst for NFTs, couldn’t have been a bigger disappointment.

I was honestly astonished that it was released in such an unfinished state. Was going to make a video about it, but decided it provided so little value it wasn't worth my time to tell others it exists. I expect it will be silently killed.
@OGDfarmer
They just tried to do too much.
They tried to steal the hearts of the OGs when they should have been focusing on what they are good at and that’s education and onboarding newcomers.
Their release of their in app dapp browser today tells me they realize this now.
@OGDfarmer
Would love to see a thread on why it failed so bad? I’m coming from the perspective that
@LooksRareNFT
had an amazing launch and continues to take marketshare from OS… and they had a fraction of the CB budget.
@Coinbase_NFT
appeal has always been that they have the reach to onboard new users & grow the space.
To achieve that they can’t just launch an OpenSea Lite, temporarily waive “Coinbase Fees” & target the existing NFT community & think we’ll just switch.
