Why are all of these places declaring disasters when this won't happen for a month? This shouldn't be all that exciting. It's a freakn solar eclipse.

@Nuclearpast I'm having people come from all over the country and a few from outside the country stay at our place. I capped the amount at 150. Once they declare an emergency it opens up more funds they can use. It's going to be a great time and a big boost to rural economies.

@Nuclearpast It could make a very high tide. I know the cost should be ready. Don't know why places like Travis County would be worried.

@Nuclearpast I live in a rural area, in the woods. I expect the small town near me to be inundated with tourists as we expect a total blackout. I have posted my entire acreage. I will be sitting in my lawn chair watching, locked and loaded.

@Nuclearpast The population of rural counties is likely to triple from 30k to 90k in the other of totality. Many of the counties are not equipped to handle such an extreme and sudden increase in population and traffic.

@Nuclearpast Traffic was so bad during the 2017 one that Google Maps was telling people to take fire and logging roads to get around jams - I appreciate authorities having some foresight to mitigate the obvious.
