β οΈβ THREAD | Major incident declared due to flooding
Due to the ongoing situation and rising river levels, we have declared a major incident alongside our partner agencies.
πππ
βΌοΈ Record river levels on the River Derwent in Derbyshire are likely to lead to further peaks in water levels along the Trent Valley and the River Trent over the next 24 to 48 hours.
This will likely lead to the flooding of properties and roads.
We need YOU to:
βΌοΈ Only travel if necessary in the flood areas.
β Never ignore road closure signs
β Never enter flood water due to the risk of hidden hazards such as lifted manhole covers.
π Stay away from swollen rivers as river flooding is very likely.

If youβd have kept the highways dept in-house instead of allowing it to go out to contractors which is owned by councillors costing millions of Β£ buying out Cornwall partners ,then maybe the gulley grates would have been maintained like they used to be

We think our partners
@viaeastmidlands
are doing a great job in very difficult circumstances. Theyβve dealt with hundreds of incidents and kept so many people safe during some of the most severe floods weβve seen for years.
@NottsCC
fortunate people that I would most certainly hope would never flood as if I were ever to be flooded, then it would be time for an Ark 2B built
@NottsCC
Just to add context to my previous post, it would most definitely mark the 'Last Post' for most, if not the whole population of Nottinghamshire, or even that of England. I actually live on the same level as Dorket Head, Nottinghamshire's highest point! Terrifying thought really!
