New trip. New mask. N99. Takes some time to position but comfortable and I feel the N99ness. At airport water from my breathing a bit condensing directly on my skin. Very confortable on nose. I slept with it on the plane about 4 hours.
Not easy for eating. Used other mask. Not…
@CDCDirector
This is ridiculous. Where are the respirators?
I would be on your team I would challenge you.
Probably I would not be on your team because you are recruited to make no waves.
Do you sleep well at night?
@NohaAboelataMD
Some friends apparently caught it at the Pharamacy while getting vaccinated.
Pharmacies and doctors' places are anyway extremely dangerous.
@1goodtern
You get the virus and then there is no evidence it will ever leave you.
So think twice.
Recovered is not equal to clean. Studies find resident virus in your body even after recovery. It might be not immediately harming but it might be slowly harming or not so slowly or suddenly.
@CDCDirector
What? This is only pharma advice!
You mention washing hands and not N95s and air quality, filters, UVCs that save lives from airborne pathogens.
You mention staying away from sick people. How does it work for HCWs?
And what with asymptomatic transmission?
Covid is not only an…

I have relayed to my local newspapers and deparment of health and also to friends and family. Young people who slef medicated with advil for covid ended up in hospital. Imagine also the effect on old people !

Compost, no burning. No barbecue. Stop smoking. Stop fertilizer and pesticide. Water trees (under trees). Let grass alone. Give food and water to birds/animals. No smoldering cigarette butts anywhere . Turn off lights at night. Conserve energy. Do not travel unecessarily.
@StephTaitWrites
This is not consistent with CDC recommendations updated May 11th 2023.
(while I find them insufficient, they are not even met by your school district I understand)
@khanaftab9003
Sorry for your loss. Praying for all the unvaccinated to vaccinate. And all together protect each others from virus and climate disarray.
@CDCDirector
Thanks but this is second tier policy.
Not enough.
And what about less than 6 months?
First tier is clean air: ventilation, filtration and source control.
In hospitals, schools, transportation to start with and never stop.

This is just remarkable. SARS-cov-2 rna eliminated from hospital ward air by air filtration. Which also removed a number of other bacterial and fungal pathogens.
The before-after here is amazing. A who’s who of nosocomial pathogens.

You need N95s & Elastomerics. If you are unlucky with your neighbors ask to move or have them move. If you can ask them to wear a mask. Then also protect yourself at the Airport. Do not remove your mask even to eat or drink. Just slide it. Hopefully enough but no garantee.
@DrTedros
DISAGREE.
And please stop looping on the hand washing.
You are serving business
You are not protecting the people.
You need to ask for testing, masking and records, starting in hospital settings. + protecting / cleaning the air in all indoors settings.
@chrisballygk
Watch out. I wore N95 for 15 days, day and night and continued testing for 5 days after a trip that followed before claiming victory .
Make sure nothing is left dirty. Ventilate and expose to sun what you can.
Keep playing defense.

Same. My dad had the hobby of zoonosis , virus and prions. I was informed by him and informed myself to engage with him.

I am worried that people don t test and don’t tell. Unless they are in health care I doubt that people test and count.
Last year July 22 a doctor in a French hospital bragged he had it 7 times.
I was asking him to prescribe paxlovid to my dad and it went to be his first.

Many factors to monkeypox pandemic emergence: travel, commerce, deforestation, mega gathering, lack of surveillance, population growth, mutations, abandonment of smallpox vaccination. Not exhaustive. Aids & possibly Covid-19. We might not have needed it but it can only aggravate.

I masked for sars1 , then for h1n1. In the process I discovered the interest to mask when dusting, brooming, cleaning. Since sars2, I wish I had been even more aware. Or had made sure air was clean. I had to stop playing tennis after a viral infection 10 years ago. I also had a…

How sad. I also read between the line that she maybe did not wear the N95 during the deep breathing class.
She could be sick , reinfected and not testing positive. (See below)
Also she could have exerted herself or reactivate a chronic infection.
😞
Reminder that symptoms and positivity are two different things.
Testing early with home testing will not pick up infection in a reliable way.
Transmission occurs while still RAT negative.
More reasons to respect protections and convalescence while covid negative also.
@FriedmanJas
We don t even need to lockdown. We could plan for 3 clean air weeks. Essential activities with N95s. Those not masked in island mode rather than lockdown

Sorry. Remove dirty clothes, towels fast. Keep the area ventilated for clean air, plus wear mask when sharing air. Even when infected it is better to not reinfect I think. Get some natural light early day and sleep well.
Keep n95 on all time if negative. I even slept with.
@shrimpzoo
Dear Schrimpzoo. Thanks for sharing. I hope my son will understand better and protect himself thanks to your testimony.
I send you best wishes.
Take good care of yourself.
Sleep , eat well, take good light (morning helps your circadian rhythms), to help your body heal hopefully.

So sorry. My dad also contracted it (his second) on hospital. He is still alive but he didn’t need it. Hospitals are not safe. More needs to be done to stop transmission.
