okay, genuine question, why's everybody so adamant about TV show or bust? I agree about it being animated, sure, but from what I can tell, each Metroid game is its own relatively standalone experience and you don't really need to play them in any order for them to make sense...

I don’t want a movie about one of the games- canon is messy enough without another layer of interpretation
an animated movie would be fine, but either way, it should be an original story we haven’t seen yet

Have you watched Pacific Rim The Black on Netflix? I think that should be the bar for an animated Metroid series. It would be fantastic.

Wholeheartedly agree. The Castlevania studio’s a good option too, and lots of people would love Genndy Tartakovsky to direct it. I’m also partial to an old-school 80’s cartoon style, either American or anime, like the Super Metroid comic.
