UPDATE: In a major victory for moms, the omnibus spending package passed the House today, which means that BOTH the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and the PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act are headed to President Biden's desk to be signed into law.
The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act requires employers to provide pregnant workers reasonable accommodations (like bathroom breaks), and it prevents them from discriminating against or firing workers for taking those accommodations.
The PUMP Act, meanwhile, strengthens an existing 2010 law that requires employers to provide space and time for hourly employees to pump and store breast milk at work. The new legislation expands these rights to salaried employees, and it includes an anti-retaliation provision.
Once again, never underestimate the power of pissed off moms.
It took years to arrive at this moment. Special thank you to those who have been leading the fight for the PWFA and the PUMP Act, including

This is amazing and all for mothers and I'm glad they get this now,but it would be a lot better if they just gave them paid maternity leave like a lot of other countries do...
