Is the issue really
#GunControl
and
#MentalHealth
? Or is it that we have created a culture that glorifies violence, rewards incivility online/offline and in politics, tolerates bullying and harassment, disregards the downtrodden, and creates a pervasive and corrosive cynicism?
@Matt_VanDyke
I believe it is a mixture of both + lack of services to youth with special needs and mental health, most school's are not dealing with hurting individuals correctly by providing the support they need, instead they suggest meds and expel them in response to bad behavior/threats.

@mckra1g
All that ... but it still is about the guns too. Just because our overarching societal structure is totally messed up - doesn't mean we let the guns off the hook.
@Matt_VanDyke
It's taken us years to create these troubled kids/adults. There's plenty more of them so they will not stop. We just keep providing these "Target Rich Areas" with little, to no defenses
@Matt_VanDyke
This is evident when you see Masterchef America and Masterchef Australia. I love both of them and watch them. One I can see with my pre teen kids. The other, most definitely not.
@Matt_VanDyke
110% agreed. Well sad from Matthew VanDyke who has spent years training people how to defend their home, villages and, country, having seen the atrocities of oppressive regimes! Thank you Mathew for the very CLEAR failure of our culture promoting violence desensitizing society!
@Matt_VanDyke
They all predicted he would be the school shooter and that prediction was a joke to them all... Now reality isn't so funny. They should have spotted he had problems and connected with him instead joked about it. Sad sad world. Ppl look to make a joke out of almost ANYTHING
@Matt_VanDyke
While all those things may be true there is one thing that when removed from the situation changes the outcome- GUNS. We are the only country this stupid and we need to call it stupid. Get rid of stupid in government VOTE BLUE.
@Matt_VanDyke
No doubt we have a mental health problem in this country. MH is more then "sane" vs "insane" but how folks process their input and act on it. Depression and insecurity can lead to dark outcomes. Yes, we absolutely need to address our violent culture as frame for pos MH discussion
@Matt_VanDyke
You think other countries didn’t deal with violence? The stats show you where the problem is but you don’t want to deal with it since NRA $ are the real power here.
