All the science says children rarely if ever spread COVID. We have schools closed. We have camps closed. We have playgrounds closed. Adults spread COVID. We have casinos open. We have restaurants open. We have lost our minds.

COVID Facts: Older = more sick, more infectious, more risk. Younger = less sick, less infectious, less risk. So yeah, let's continue talking about closing schools in fall while keeping Casinos, Airports, Restaurants, & Retail Outlets open at the same time. Wtf are we doing?

Published in the Journal Pediatrics on Friday, the official peer-reviewed journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics... "The data are striking," said Dr. Raszka. "The key takeaway is that children are not driving the pandemic.

@MattGlantz To be fair, staff members who work in schools and camps are all adults so that's a problem, but I see your point

@metsfan49 For the most part teachers can only interact with children and not other adults in schools. And obviously can take reasonable precautions.

@MattGlantz I hear schools have teachers and lunch ladies and janitors and way too many administrators. I think they're adults.

@MattGlantz So, are you saying we need children’s casinos? Seriously though, in all fairness to the school closures, by the time we had anything close to reasonable information, the school years was either over or very close to it. Camps and playgrounds seem to attract adults as well

@rosenblumr That doesn't explain casinos and restaurants, but not camps and playgrounds.

@MattGlantz How many schools do you think function without adults present? How many camps and playgrounds lack adult supervision? Just because children face lower risk of complication from coronavirus doesn’t mean that opening these services will be low risk.

@mirandayaver Are you saying casinos and restaurants don't have adults? I am not sure you understand the comparison.

Same study looked at infection pairs from a national database to see who was infecting who. Almost all transmission adult to adult. Minimal child to adult or child to child. 6/9

@MattGlantz @AmyKosari What "science" are you referring to? your 3rd grade science teacher, maybe? Not to be too tacky but if you did a bit of your own research rather than listen to trump or Fox, you would realize scientist do NOT yet know how virus works in children esp. re: transmission.
