👍Leicestershire has 100’s of examples and it’s a standing joke among family and friends that I look for them when out and about 🤓I call them the rib cage of medieval England I was looking at the lumps and bumps at Cold Newton earlier this week

The preservation is great. We only have comparable areas in north east Wales around the Wrexham Maelor area on the Welsh border.

Our village isn’t far from Willoughby. I mapped the LiDAR-visible ridge & furrow around us last year but we don’t have as much as that! 👍

Sounds like a good project. I’m amazed how much has survived. It must be mostly pasture there as the modern arable farming would have ploughed it all out.

… I took this shot a looong time ago from the junction of the road and the brook, looking SW over the grass ends and ridges 💚 A rare survival indeed!
