Taliban detained two journalists in Herat on Aug 1. They were held for 20 minutes, interrogated, then released after Zabihullah Mujahid intervened. Afghan govt detained four journalists in Kandahar on July 25. They are still in captivity.

@MSharif1990 Detaining journalists by either side is condemnable. Media persons should freely work. All detained journalists should be freed immediately.

@MSharif1990 How about more context like how many the Taliban have killed in the past week or month? Your tweet reads like the Taliban are merciful‼️ And how about some details on why the journalists were detained in Kandahar?

@MSharif1990 How can you compare a terrorist group to a republic state, is the zabihullah mujahid a law or a person who can detain journalists and then let them go again? Whats is the base? Where is the court? Who was the judge?

@MSharif1990 Chain of command and quick communication between the Taliban ground troops and their leadership. Just 20 mins and the information went up, decision made and journalists released.
