1/7 🧵
Uniswap has completed a governance vote, with nearly 100% of voters agreeing with the proposal to deploy Uniswap V3 on zkSync. According to the proposal result, more than 72 million UNI tokens voted, with only 120 UNI against the proposal
2/7 🧵
This is mutually beneficial for both zkSync and Uniswap - having a leading decentralized exchange (DEX) on board to zkSync is a recognition to the chain, while porting to an EVM compatible zk-Rollup enables better user experience for Uniswap.
3/7 🧵
How could the existing DEXs on zkSync compete with such a large player? Uniswap ranks no.1* in terms of daily trading volume among all AMMs. It is clearly a threat to existing DEXs on zkSync, including MES Protocol. However we have a positive view on this.
4/7 🧵
There is no surprise that players on Ethereum would deploy on zkSync sooner or later. There is a consensus in the Ethereum community that zk-Rollup is the endgame solution for scaling Ethereum. EVM compatibility turns zkSync into a composable platform to developers.
5/7 🧵
zkSync is like a new piece of land with a limited number of new projects, users and liquidity; migration of Uniswap or other big names will not only introduce zkSync to the mass public, but also direct users and liquidity to zkSync incentifying developers to build there.
6/7 🧵
We believe user segments are different. Traders on AMMs are happy with simple token swapping, we offer features to traders who are more specific with trading needs such as various order types (stop loss/ take profit) and automated trading strategies (DCA or copy trading).
7/7 🧵
Layer 2 and the DApps on it are interdependent. People and activities are the key to a thriving ecosystem, when it becomes a default hub of the defi world, the protocols there will also thrive and therefore we are happy to see expansion and flourishing of the community!
