"They nuked the NCR"
Okay..but does that make the NCR fully gone? Because we destroyed Enclave's main base TWICE for both chapters (West and East), and they still exist.
My guess is no, they aren't fully wiped out, and moved elsewhere
The show is set years after New Vegas.
New Vegas takes place in 2281, 4 in 2287, and almost 10 years later, the Fallout series takes place in 2296.
They didn't retcon shit
Yes, they literally decided to erase the NCR completely at 2277, 4 years before New Vegas. Than show New Vegas completely nuked at Fallout TV end.
Bethesda literally retconned New Vegas out of spite in the "TV show" episode 8.

@LtCameron88
They were stretched thin in 2277 from expanding into Nevada, and now their capital is retconed into getting nuked the same year they're supposed to defeat Caesar's Legion at Hoover Dam.
Yeah, this would collapse the NCR more than enough to invalidate New Vegas.
@LtCameron88
Nuke doesnβt mean fully destroyed, they could have regroup and just be weaker since they got hit hard. As you said they probably moved somewhere to defend easier to recuperate.
@LtCameron88
The Enclave still existing is kinda nice cause I didn't feel the same impact that the Enclave did with the Institute, the Enclave are advanced, terrifying, and have a history of violence. The NCR also survived so much for them to be just gone, they're probably fine.
@LtCameron88
Ncr id assume have many other places across the Midwest after the legions defeat, snd we still see remnants of them in the show (wonβt say where cause of spoilers)
@LtCameron88
They don't expressly say that the NCR is gone, just gone from Shady Sands. We no nothing of Northern California. New Vegas is going to be hella interesting though. AND ALL THOSE JUICY TID BITS ABOUT THE VAULTS!!!
@LtCameron88
Except they moved shady sands location to where the boneyard should be. Thatβs a direct contradiction of the lore. And if shady sands is nuked before the events of new vegas that would retcon dialogue about the boneyard and shady sands in fallout new vegas.
@LtCameron88
Huh so now I'm wondering if that makes the lonesome roads bombs being set off by Ulysses and the Courier Canon seems like they went with the yes man ending after all
@LtCameron88
it doesnt matter anyways. the last episode very very obviously shows that the show is going to be having the main characters rebuilding the ncr
@LtCameron88
Theyβre not even gone! The literal final battle at the Griffith Observatory literally shoved in our faces that that was a remnant of the NCR lol yes they all died but that doesnt mean theyβre fully gone. It ran from San Francisco down to LA as far east as Bakersfield, ton of land
