Tmw when Spartans have a history of literally doing shit like this before Halo 5 made it into a cutscene.
Remember when Chief literally jumped with a Covenant bomb in the middle of a SPACE BATTLE?
Or when Fred's team did this in First Strike when their Pelican was shot down?
Or when Chief used a door from the Forerunner Dreadnought to shield himself as he fell into the atmosphere. Or when-
My point is this is only hated because

This isn't new

I agree with your point but with the pelican jump in first strike thatβs a last ditch effort so they donβt all die and the resulting jump kills and wounds a decent amount of Spartans. Itβs not really comparable other than jumping out of a pelican.
@LtCameron88
He is not saying that those kind of things haven't happened, he says the direction and design is not Halo, and I agree. We've seen stuff like this, yeah, but the presentation of that cinematic is simply not Halo
@wolfkennymaltby
You do realize Halo has massive amounts of 80s Sci-fi tropes in it, right?
They didn't turn Halo into the Avengers, they just show the full power of the post war UNSC
@LtCameron88
It is moreso that the delivering the bomb is a crippling blow in the middle of a battle over earth. The H5 strike was in a battle that didnβt effect most of the plot of the game and was needlessly dangerous. Like Halo has silly moments but for the most part tries to be serious.
@LtCameron88
What always gets me is the argument that things like this feel too much like the "Avengers"
Of course it does! that's the point! what the hell do you Spartans are?!?!
Super soldiers that take on technologically superior foe and they win....a lot
@LtCameron88
Or how about when John, Kelly and Sam (well all the Spartans) launch themselves towards the Covie ship in Fall of Reach literally right after getting the initial MjΓΆlnir armor?
Itβs in Spartan DNA to jump out ships, for me itβs just the music in that Halo 5 cutscene thats offπ€·πΌββοΈ
@LtCameron88
Itβs not about them running down a hillside and fighting through all the aliens. The issue is that the framing of it, like the music, armor, and certain shots, makes it feel less like something from Halo and more like a discount avengers scene
@LtCameron88
It was a creative choice and hardly worthy of note. What fails about that is the player never feels that feeling the whole game. All cool things are watched. It's just my opinion but I never got attached to the Osiris ensemble which I think is a shame. The ends just didn't meet.
